The Netherlands America Foundation Donates to Our Cause!

Tuesday, March 3rd, The Kast Lab was the lucky recipient of a $4,000 donation from The Netherlands America Foundation.

The award made possible through proceeds from the NAF gala dinner that was held in November 2014, was presented to our group by Jeff Keasberry president of the NAF Southern California Chapter, and we are very excited to put this donation to use!

NAF 2015

The NAF strives to strengthen the bonds between the US and the Netherlands by supporting an exchange of ideas and talents in arts, sciences, education, business, and public affairs between the two counties. To date they have supported 3 visiting scholars from the Netherlands; Laurie Rijkee, Ruben Prins, and Adrie Sanna who have been trained and performed cancer research in our lab.

Established in 1921 by Edward Bok, The Netherlands America Foundation has ties to many historical luminaries including Franklin D. Roosevelt and Thomas J. Watson, founder of IBM. The NAF operates under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Margriet of the Netherlands and her husband, Professor Pieter van Vollenhoven.
