In support of LA Metro’s Bike Week 2015, The Kast Lab hosted a pit stop outside of the Harlyne J Norris Cancer Research Tower.wpid-wp-1431643920104.jpeg

For the 2015 LA Metro bike to work day we had the labs resident ‘bike-guy,’ Joseph Skeate, posted outside our research tower for the morning with coffee in his mug and a smile on his face.

“I like to think that by hosting this stop we may have encouraged fellow Trojans, especially the students, to give biking to the HSC campus a second thought.” -Joseph

Currently our lab has 5 members that utilize alternative transportation to get to work everyday; 3 of which travel by bike the entire way and 2 that utilize either the light rail or a combination of cycling and the USC inter-campus shuttle.

“I think it’s important to get the blood flowing in the morning and really wake up before you jump into your work, helps you clear your head so you can focus.” -Julia

LA Metro’s Bike to work week 2015 runs through May 15th, 2015 and is expected to remove at least 200 cars from the road per day.
